The Overall Winning Artists Category consists of the 5 best entries received from the 3 media categories of the Painting & Other Category, Photography & Digital Category and the 3 Dimensional Art Category.
The winning artists will now be featured on the Light Space & Time website for the remainder of the month of July and August 2018 and thereafter, the artworks and links to the artist’s websites will remain online in the Light Space & Time Archives.
The overall winning artists’ category of the "555 Special" Art Exhibition will receive extensive worldwide publicity and promotion by the gallery. The overall winning artists will also receive extensive worldwide publicity in the form of email marketing, 550+ press release announcements, event announcement posts and social media marketing.
Winning artists will also have their art exhibition results posted and promoted on ArtJobs/ArtWeek. Artweek/Artjobs produces 800,000-page impressions per month, 280,000 website visitors per month and has 30,000 newsletter subscribers.

It wasn’t until the day Codie was told she was going blind that she finally started to see; to see both the big and little things all around her in everyday life and be amazed by the beauty the world has to offer.
It has been the most wonderful and joyful experience to watch Codie begin to be amazed by the simple and fantastic sights around her, to start seeing and appreciating; “amazing lighting”, “crazy dramatic skies”, "northern lights" the “intense glowing red hue of a cardinal that only happens right at twilight”, "mist covered mountains"; and the new “tiny worlds” of Macro Photography.
When Codie started her journey to really “see” what was around her... really, truly see... is when she fell in love with photographing the incredible things most people take for granted. Ava Roth is a Toronto-based painter, embroiderer, and mixed-media artist.
Roth's current collection of “encaustic sewing’s” brings together the two seemingly irreconcilable mediums of encaustic painting and embroidery.
Layers of wax, tissue paper, and photography are laminated and bisected, then joined and connected by thread and wire. These paintings explore the tensions between permanent and temporary, solid and delicate, transparent and opaque.
Roth uses natural and local materials whenever possible. Canadian beeswax, reclaimed Ontario barn wood, leather, linen, photography, and paper are hallmarks of her work.
Ava Roth is represented by Loop Gallery, in Toronto, and Wall Space Gallery, in Ottawa. In addition to exhibiting in solo and group shows, Roth's work has been featured in many online and print magazines, including a feature in the award-winning Design Sponge. Her pieces have been acquired by private collectors throughout Canada and internationally.

Denise McDermott is an Australian photographic artist, now retired from working life. She has been a photographer for most of her life. She is equally comfortable shooting the night sky, the underwater world, landscapes, animals, studio work and macro subjects.
Photography is Denise’s passion and she delights in taking it beyond the usual, often into the surreal. She has been successful at National and International Competition level, having recently won a Gold Medal in VIgex 2018 Digital Salon of Photography and a Bronze medal in Sydney Harbour International Exhibition of Photography. Denise’s work often begins with a single image and grows to explore the possibilities of a theme. Some recent themes have been science fiction and steampunk.
Denise enjoys finding abstract images but also likes to create mythical scenes and place costumed models within those scenes. She recently completed an online course called Photoshop Artistry and is now enrolled in the Awake course run by Sebastian Michaels.
Denise has just participated in an exhibition with 3 friends in an art gallery in her area. Plans for the future include visiting some re-enactment groups to capture them in practice with costumes and props. Dan was born in Montana, grew up in Washington State and now lives in California. With virtually no formal art training, Dan has been drawing since childhood. His internationally award-winning charcoal drawings have been exhibited in gallery shows in Palm Springs, Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, Hollywood, Santa Ana, Pasadena, Long Beach, New York, Provincetown and West Hollywood. Dan is also now represented in Europe and travels there yearly for live shows. With his client base extending as far away as Malaysia and Australia, his work is becoming known worldwide.
Dan’s work is permanently installed in the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas, as part of their impressive commercial art collection and he participated in the epic Art Takes Times Square event in New York City. His drawings have also been published in numerous art magazines & books, both domestically and internationally.
Working exclusively in charcoal, Dan uses a realistic style that mimics photography to the point that his drawings are often mistaken for photos. He loves shadows, contrast, anonymity and using negative space in his compositions. Dan’s gifted eye catches timeless fragments of life in his work---whether it’s the intricate lines of the human hand, the delicate folds of a garment, or a tarnished piece of silver, they are drawn in detailed simplicity.
