Artist Biography:
Margaret Biggs is an oil painter and poet whose original fine art is collected nationwide. Born in the Gulf South, she studied art at LSU and UIC. Her subject matter of landscapes, seascapes, still life, and holistic pieces are painted in a stylized manner bordering between the elements of abstraction and realism.
Catering to those in search of great imagery that is aesthetically stimulating and inspiring, Biggs aims to guide people towards a sense of peace and connectedness that is inherent everywhere. Her paintings, a reflection of her life and earth’s gifts, provide alluring images and healing for all. Margaret’s work now hangs in medical facilities, hospitals, doctor’s offices, the Ritz Carlton, Sarasota as well as in numerous private homes from coast to coast.
Because of her various subject matter, reference to Coastal areas, contemporary design and the abstract quality of her holistic pieces, Biggs has the vision and ability to create paintings that would enhance most locations. The dynamic use of color, shape and line coalesce in such a way as to create strong, peaceful imagery, known to have a healing effect on the viewer.
Artist Statement:
“Bridging a spiritual reality with that of the physical world, my paintings and poetry are expressions of an inner journey. These internal truths are deeply personal statements made to stimulate, inspire and heal through the sense of peace and connectedness I evoke from nature. Inner strength and beauty are byproducts of a peaceful heart. My wish is that my work will help heal this precious world, one person at a time."
