The placement in this competition qualified his art to be showcased in this feature. Below are David's Artist Biography, Artist Statement and 5 images that were submitted to this competition.
Artist Biography:
David lived most of his life in Florida with over 30 years of it chasing the waves as a surfer and constantly creating with wood in one form or another.
He moved to Washington in 2013. With his love for the ocean, the magnificent trees and the gift of driftwood from the Pacific Northwest coastline he could not help but to create fun and expressive pieces of art. David prefers to leave his materials unaltered and let the pieces dictate their placement.
“Mother Nature has created this gift for us I simply assemble her puzzle pieces creating shapes and form.” He is currently a member of The Blue Whole gallery in Sequim WA. He has also shown works in Seattle, Gig Harbor, Port Townsend, Port Angeles, Light Space and Time online Art Gallery. David recently held his first solo art exhibition in Seattle in May 2017.
