Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery is extremely pleased to announce that Gerald Chodak has been named as the Gallery’s new featured artist and he will now be promoted by the gallery for the next 14 days in the gallery’s Artist Showcase.

Gerald Chodak is a Highland Beach, Florida based artist.  Gerald creates non-objective abstract paintings.  Gerald was selected as 1 of the top twelve finalists of the gallery’s recent Solo Art Exhibition Series #8. The placement in this competition qualified his art to be showcased in this feature.

Gerald’s Artist Showcase feature will be promoted to over 350+ major news outlets, with inclusion on Google News & Bing News. In addition, the gallery will also be featuring and promoting his art in the gallery’s various social media networks for further exposure.

Artist Biography:

Gerald Chodak has been a professional glass blower for 13 years. He now resides in Highland Beach, Florida and Michiana Shores, Indiana. Recently, Gerald completed several courses of acrylic painting at the Boca Raton School of Art under Eydi Lampasona and he continues his education at the Creative Arts School in Delray Beach Florida.

In April 2017 one of his paintings was accepted into the Broward Art Guild exhibit and in December he was juried into the Delray Art League.

In addition, in December 2017 he received an Honorable Mention and Special Merit award in the Light, Space and Time “Patterns” online art exhibition for two of his acrylic paintings. He is currently painting on canvas using a vibrant color palette with an impasto technique.

Artist Statement:

Since early in my adult life, I have been visiting art galleries throughout the world primarily drawn to abstract artists such as Sonia Delaunay, Mark Rothko, Frank Stella, and Morris Louis. My own artistic career began 13 years ago after viewing a video of the notable glass artist, Dale Chihuly, blowing glass in Murano, Italy. I was stimulated by the challenge of the hand-eye coordination needed to achieve a well-constructed piece. I immediately began private instruction to develop my skills as a glass artist with an interest in combining varied shapes and bright colors.

In 2013, I started displaying my work in commercial galleries. Glass blowing does present certain challenges to the creative process. There is the need to have access to a fully equipped studio and an experienced assistant. More importantly, each piece of work requires a pre-planned decision about shape and color.

Recently I have been attracted to acrylic painting in part because it allows me more freedom to change, modify and be more spontaneous as each work evolves. I like to experiment with the effects resulting from bright colors interacting with each other as the paint is moved across the canvas.

Presently, I am exploring non-objective abstract paintings, which enables the viewer to react to each work based on his or her own persona.  Gerald’s website: http://artbyGerryChodak.com
