The Overall Winning Artists Category consists of the 10 Best Entries received from the 3 media categories of the Painting & Other Category, Photography & Digital Category and the 3 Dimensional Art Category.
The winning artists will now be featured on the Light Space & Time website for the month of January 2018 and thereafter, the artworks and links to the artist’s websites will remain online in the Light Space & Time Archives.
The overall winning artists’ category of the "All Women" Art Exhibition will receive extensive worldwide publicity by having their winning art presented on Artsy.net. The LST Artsy.net page will feature the artist’s art, an excerpt of their artists statement and their website URL’s as part of the gallery’s overall prize package.
In addition, the winning artists will also receive extensive worldwide publicity in the form of email marketing, 1000+ press release announcements, event announcement posts and social media marketing.
Winning artists will also have their art exhibition results posted and promoted on Artjobs/Artweek. Artweek produces 800,000 page impressions per month, 280,000 website visitors per month and has 30,000 newsletter subscribers.

1st Place - Jolanta Soares – “New Chapter”

Jolanta Soares, an Abstract Expressionist artist, grew up in Communist Poland, coming of age during the Solidarity Movement, before emigrating to the United States. This background intermingles with her experiences as a mother, her love of sailing and working as an IT professional, to inspire her many different series of works. “Stories” describes her life’s journey, “Into the Cloud” conveys a rebellion against the digitization and vulnerability of our identities, “Poppies Fields” embodies the beauty and pathos inherent in poppies, and “Don’t Think” being the Joie de vivre. Reminiscent of De Kooning, Joan Mitchell and other Abstract Expressionist artists, Jolanta uses an Oil & Wax and Encaustic techniques to create paintings.
“My art represents my emotions, memories & desires. My paintings are intuitive. Every so often I start my paintings without any plan or structure, I just put paint on a board and play with the butter like mixes of oil paint and beeswax. I put down several layers of paint while experimenting with colors, textures, and markings while using different tools such as brooms, whisks, skewers, pencils etc”.

2nd Place – Sheri Emerson – “Papillon”

Sheri has been a photographer her entire life, from a child snapping pictures with her 110 camera, to her first SLR, and finally into the digital world. She also has been an artist her entire life, winning her first art competition at the grand old age of five.
In the past few years, she has intensively studied both Photoshop and Lightroom to learn how to enhance her photography and turn it into digital art. In the past year, she has been published in “Living the Photo Artistic Life” eleven times, Readers Digest “Our Canada” magazine, “Photoshop Creative UK” magazine three times, “Conceptual Images” magazine twice, “Fine Eye Magazine” for fine art photography three times, and “A5 Magazine.” She is a three-time top ten overall winner in the Light, Space and Time competitions and won a two-week Artist Showcase, has received “Best in Show” and “Judges Choice” awards in Contemporary Art Gallery Online competitions, placed second in the SINWP “Creatures Great and Small” competition, took third place in the recent FusionArt competition, and has been recognized for her work in ShiftArt.com challenges as well as winning numerous Facebook “Photo of the Day” challenges. Her work has been shown at the Pennsylvania Center for Photography and Heaven Art Gallery in Scottsdale, and will be shown at the Blank Wall Gallery in Athens, Greece in 2018.

3rd Place – Danielle Kantola – “Paisley”

Growing up in Thunder Bay, Danielle found both solace and inspiration in the teeming stillness of nature. As she grew, her passion for art took root, becoming the driving force that fueled her life.
She moved to the West Coast and studied computer animation at Think Tank Training Centre in North Vancouver, BC, and later worked in the film industry as a modelling and texture artist. Although the city was full of excitement, her love of nature remained alive within her, filling her with the desire to explore.
With a backpack full of art supplies, she travelled, finding inspiration in the colours of India, the cultures of Europe, the rugged slopes of New Zealand, and the bustling markets of Morocco. A lifelong resident of the Pacific Northwest, LouAnn Goodrich currently resides in Oregon where she maintains forested acreage preserved for wildlife.
She is a proponent for a balanced environment and habitat conducive to maintaining diversity and sustainability for wildlife and the natural world. Animals have always been a large part of her life and after retiring from a career in medicine she pursued photography to record and express the beauty of nature.
Now a passionate nature and wildlife photographer, she particularly strives to portray species specific behavior in her images. Recently she has diversified and added digital photo artistry to her skills which allows an additional creativity and artistic presentation of her images. Paula Montgomery is an artist based in North Carolina. Lively, effervescent color pulsates through her paintings.
Primarily focusing on flora as a subject, Montgomery transforms everyday flowers into painterly visual poems using expressionistic brushstrokes, a purposeful palette knife, and carefully placed bits of paper. Elegant and independent, her paintings exude a sense of peace and joy.

Barbara Mierau-Klein’s fine art images reflect her fascination with the beauty of color and light. Her artwork covers a wide variety of subjects, sometimes with whimsical elements, at times with a hint of the fantastical, often with elements of nature, always with intriguing color and light effects.
Discovering the world of digital photo compositing a few years ago, Barbara fell in love with the creative possibilities. Layering multiple images, textures and effects feels like working with magic and allows her to design something unique and new that transforms and morphs the reality of the constituent parts. She hopes her art captures your imagination as well, resonates with you, and makes you pause and wonder if only for a moment.
As a passionate landscape and nature photographer since her teenage years, many of the photos Barbara uses in her compositions are her own. Yet going wherever her inspiration of the day may take her, she also uses stock photos and relies on textures and artistic elements from others.
A native of Germany, Barbara lives in the Washington, D.C. area. Creating, drawing and painting are part of my every day. University studies focused on fine art and clothing design, and worked in gallery after studies, selling in art fairs. Like many artist I dreamed of being a full time artist. Life can have other plans. Raised 3 sons, returned to school to become a surgical technologist to support myself and them. Still made creativity a part of our lives but, sadly painting went to back burner. Now they are grown wonderful men and retired after 21 years I am full time working artist. It amazes me that I can paint, create each day and people react in such a positive way.
I am part of several cooperative galleries, exhibit with regional show with several large awards this year. Discovered alcohol inks 3 years ago, I’m hooked. I use many mediums depending on results wanted. The inks give me flow, brilliant intense colors desired. Living in fabulous Upper Peninsula of Michigan provides unlimited inspiration. Have you ever felt completely out of control? Have you ever felt inadequate to keep the simplest of daily schedule or just get out of bed every morning?
Perhaps the deepest human need is a sense of control of one’s own life. Since that sense of control has been stolen from me by chronic pain and chronic fatigue, I feel out of control of the simplest parts of my life. There is no sense of certainty; nothing completes on time; this creates overwhelming level of anxiety and stress. I feel like a burden, and I don’t want to put my burden on others. They wouldn’t understand anyway.
So, I calm myself down by painting, by having control over the colors I choose, brush marks, scraper action, and the emergence of a beautiful painting that is like a magical cure. Here, is the only place I’m in control.
As a child, I drew every cartoon character that I saw on TV, took photos of my family and friends, but mostly flowers as their vibrant colors fascinated me. I started painting with oils as a teenager and later became interested in acrylics and mixed-media. I painted sceneries, colorful flowers, cartoonish and whimsical characters of animals, and abstracts.
Painting makes me lose track of time and feel freedom beyond expression. My contemporary abstracts embrace my soul and take me far away from the ordinary, helping me experience the extraordinary. I strive to create abstract paintings that bring the viewer closer to ponder upon the extraordinary power of freedom.

9th - Bobbin Salisbury – “Finding My Heart”

Bobbin is my art name (my Legal name is Marilyn Salisbury) and I am a prolific watercolor artist that also enjoys dabbling with other mediums. I am very eclectic with many forms of art: including Altered books, Illustrations, “Bobbindoodles” and mixed media.
I have also started a children's series of books, Silly Selma. Many presentations of my work have been displayed at local art societies, shows and stores. My newest passion is teaching (both privately, at local studios, I even drive to you!). Sharing my techniques and experience with my students is very rewarding.
My love of nature and being outdoors has always been an inspiration, as you can see in the majority of my paintings. A new adventure, The Lobster Trap Frames, is a perfect pairing of my love of the sea and my transparent watercolor paintings.
I, enjoy membership in Artists of the Palm Beaches, Palm Beach Watercolor Society, and am a Signature Member of the Wellington Art Society. Anelle was born in 1983 on a farm near Middelburg in South Africa but it was in the vibrant and dynamic city of Johannesburg where she spent most of her youth.
In 2006 she graduated from the University of Stellenbosch with a degree in Visual Communication Design. As she pursued a career as a graphic designer, painting remained foremost on her mind. In 2013 she started the gradual process to become a full time artist.
After meeting her husband, Anelle relocated to a farm in Verkykerskop in the mountainous eastern Free State, which allowed her to return to a more focused lifestyle. With beautiful surroundings to inspire her and very few distractions – usually accompanied by city living – Anelle leads a busy, yet fulfilling life, split between commercial work and painting.
Anelle’s broad influence in life is balance, which is highly evident in both her graphic design and her art. She enjoys breaking away from the precision of design to release her inner artistic character, which is bold, unconstrained and expressive.
Through her work, she focuses on capturing thought-provoking moods that convey a relatable state of being. Using subtle tones, executed with a contemporary flair, creates a delicate balance between her styles.
