Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery is extremely pleased to announce that Linda Finstad has been named as the Gallery’s new featured artist and she will now be promoted by the gallery for the next 14 days in the gallery’s Artist Showcase.
Linda is an award-winning artist based in Alberta, Canada, who specializes in Equine acrylic paintings on canvas. In her Prism-Equus Heritage Horse series of paintings, at first you will see just a brightly colored horse. However, on closer inspection you will discover signs and symbols built into the body of the horse that represent a certain culture.
Linda was selected as 1 of the top twelve finalists in the gallery’s 12th Solo Art Exhibition Series. The placement in this competition qualified her art to be showcased in this feature.
Linda’s Artist Showcase feature will be promoted to over 350+ major news outlets, with inclusion on Google News & Bing News. In addition, the gallery will also be featuring and promoting her artwork in the gallery’s various social media networks for further exposure.
Below are Linda’s Artist Biography, Artist Statement and 5 images that were submitted to this competition.
Artist Biography
Linda Finstad calls herself an “Equine Artist”. A description that becomes obvious when you look at her extensive body of work. Whether it is her unique “Prism-Equus” paintings, exquisite fine art photography or line up of published books; horses are the thread that ties it all together.
Linda’s work has been featured on several TV networks and received media attention worldwide. She also received a letter of recognition from her royal highness, the Queen of England. Linda loves to create but she also loves to share this love with others by encouraging them along their own creative journey through workshops and classes.
Artist Statement
I believe for a painting to be considered “Art” it must to stir an emotional response within whoever looks at it. The emotional response I want people to feel when they look at my work is “Joy”. Using whimsical shapes and colours I look below the surface of my subject and its outer beauty, to paint its spirit and personality. My unique style of art is called “Prism-Equus” which simply means; equine personality depicted in colour. This definition (attributed to me) has been added to the urban dictionary making “Prism-Equus” a recognized word. I share this “joy” by teaching others how to paint the world around them in vibrant colours through classes and workshops.
